This week, our family suffered an unimaginable loss. My 29 year old cousin, Tommy Spurlock, of Livingston, TN was tragically shot and killed by police on February 10, 2025. While struggling with mental illness and addiction, he found himself in a situation that ended in tragedy. He was more than his struggles—he was a father, a son, a brother, and a friend who mattered deeply to those who loved him. Though his life was complicated, his heart was big, and his story deserves to be remembered with dignity.

Most heartbreaking of all, he leaves behind his precious nine-year-old daughter, Lily, who now has to grow up without her dad. She was the light of his life, and we want to make sure she knows how much he loved her.

We are now facing the unexpected financial burden of funeral and burial costs. Our family needs to raise $8,500 to give Tommy a proper service and lay him to rest with love and respect. Any contribution, no matter how small, will help ease this burden during such a heartbreaking time.
