Honoring Tommy Shoemake: A Devoted Partner, Father, Grandfather, and Retired Police Officer in His Final Journey
Dear Friends, Family, and Kind-Hearted Strangers,
We are reaching out during a time of immense difficulty and heartache. Tommy, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and proud retired police officer, was recently diagnosed with leukemia in November. At 73, he has spent his life serving his community with honor and integrity, always putting the needs of others before his own. Tommy served Shreveport, LA, for 29 years as a police officer, retiring as the Assistant Chief of OSI, making a lasting impact on countless lives. Now, as he faces this battle, we have an opportunity to give back to the man who dedicated so much of his life to protecting and serving others.
Tommy’s diagnosis came suddenly, leaving little time to prepare for what lies ahead. While he fights courageously, the family is now faced with mounting expenses, including end-of-life care, funeral arrangements, and helping his beloved life partner, Charlene, transition back home to be closer to family.
Charlene, his partner of 28 years, has been his unwavering support system. They have shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and perseverance. After Tommy’s passing, Charlene will need to relocate back to Shreveport from their beloved home in the Ozarks to be surrounded by the comfort and support of her family. This move involves costs beyond her means, especially as we contend with the emotional and financial weight of Tommy’s care.
How You Can Help
We are asking for your support to assist with:
• End-of-life care to ensure Tommy spends his final days in comfort and dignity.
• Funeral and memorial expenses to honor his life and legacy as a dedicated officer and cherished family man.
• Relocation costs for Charlene, helping her move closer to loved ones during this difficult transition.
No amount is too small, and every contribution makes a meaningful difference. If you are unable to donate, sharing Tommy’s story and keeping the family in your thoughts and prayers would mean the world.
Your generosity will not only provide financial relief but will also serve as a tribute to Tommy’s lifelong commitment to service and love.
Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and support.
