My name is Tommy Pancy, I'm a jazz musician in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I'm raising funds to record and release my debut jazz record. This is a project that is nearly 10 years in the making with 8 completely original tunes, varying the size of the band from 7 to 3 members.
In an attempt to keep costs as low as I can, I will be recording this in my home studio. While it is fully operational, if I want to put out the highest quality album I can, there are still some costs to finish the sound treatment of the space. All of the money will go to paying the musicians first. Once they are properly compensated, anything extra will go toward finishing the acoustics in the studio and upgrading a few pieces of gear. (DIY sound panels, acoustic blankets, microphones, microphone stands, etc...)
Creatively, the album is an amalgamation of 4 years of college learning how to lead, write, and play, 3 years of life lessons outside of music, learning to grow up, and 4 years of time spent trying to make a career here in Grand Rapids. I've brought in individuals I hold in very high regard not only for their ability on their instruments but also people who were very close to me personally at points of this 10-year story.
Joining me in the studio and on the bandstand will be:
Kevin Doll - Tenor Saxophone
Austin Muthyala - Trumpet
Dan Parrish - Trombone
Jordan Richards - Bass
Andrew DePree - Piano
Nick Chard - Drums
Thank you for taking the time to read and donate if you wish.
I am unbelievably excited to share with you all my debut jazz album "Undeniable".
Tommy Pancy
