Tommie Clay has always been the one his family could count on. Tommie has spent over 20 years working as a truck driver and owner operator. The long hours on the road, the early mornings, and the late nights were all for one reason — to provide for his wife and daughter.

Last week, Tommie underwent his first surgery after being diagnosed with oral cancer. While we are thankful he was able to have surgery, his recovery will take time. Doctors expect he will be unable to drive for at least 4 to 6 months. As an owner operator, if Tommie is not driving, there is no income. His truck does not generate money unless he is behind the wheel. Although his wife works, her income alone is not enough to carry the financial responsibilities of their household.

During this recovery period, they are facing mortgage and household bills, truck payments and insurance, medical expenses and follow-up treatments, and everyday living expenses. The financial strain during this time could put their stability at risk. We are asking for help so Tommie can focus on healing without the overwhelming stress of how the bills will be paid.
