Give Lucy Her Daddy Back - Help my Husband Stand Again After Spinal Tumor Surgery

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,

My name is Agnieszka (Agnes) and today, with a heart full of hope but also fear, I am asking for your help.

Over a year ago, my husband, Tomasz (Tom), underwent a major surgery to remove a tumor from his spine — a surgery that changed our lives forever.

Many of you know him as an active, hardworking, and always smiling person, so this diagnosis and the outcome of the surgery have been devastating for him — and for all of us who love him.

We were full of hope that this operation would give him a second chance at life. He fought hard through the pain, the rehab, and the endless doctor visits. For a while, it seemed like we were winning.

But then everything changed...

Despite all his courage, effort, and strength, my husband’s condition has slowly worsened.

Now, he is completely dependent on a wheelchair, unable to walk, unable to care for himself, and unable to play with our beautiful daughter, Lucy, who just recently celebrated her third birthday.

Seeing him trapped in his own body breaks my heart in ways I can’t even describe.

Lucy asks for her daddy to come play, to run with her — and he can only smile through the pain. I would give anything to see them laugh and chase each other again.

And I will do everything in my power to give him that chance.

Where We Are Now:

Since the surgery, my husband has not been able to work. I have become the sole provider for our family, trying to hold everything together while watching the man I love struggle more each day.

However, with his health continuing to worsen, we are now facing even greater challenges, both financially and emotionally. His needs are growing rapidly, and we can no longer keep up on our own.

We urgently need help to:

• Pay for medical bills not covered by insurance. We are now preparing for an important out-of-state specialist visit to the Mayo Clinic. This consultation is critical to understanding why his condition has deteriorated and what options we have moving forward. Travel expenses, accommodations, and the cost of recommended treatment will be a heavy financial burden- but is a step we must take if there is any hope of improving his quality of life.

• Continue intensive physical therapy and rehabilitation

• Start therapies not covered by insurance — including acupuncture, and other holistic treatments that offer hope

• Purchase a special medical bed to prevent further health complications

• Modify our home with a wheelchair platform, so that he can regain some independence and safely leave the house when he is strong enough

• Provide additional home care support, as insurance covers only a limited number of hours, and I must work to keep our home afloat

• Cover essential living costs for our family

This is not the life we imagined. This is not the future we dreamed of when we built our family.

But we still have hope — and we still believe in miracles, in hard work, and in the kindness of people who care.
