Hi, I'm Carleen – I’m helping Tom Edminster's family and friends fundraise for him as he goes through a tough time. On April 24, Tom collapsed at church, and was taken to the UCSF hospital with a torn aorta. His aorta was operated on successfully, but additional vascular surgery will be needed at some point. Tom remains at UCSF, and although he's doing well, his recovery is going to take some time. Tom does not have a lot of money, but he has a strong foundation for his life– his beloved cats (Buddha and Subdude) and his home. We’re hoping you can help support Tom and make sure this catastrophe does not take this foundation away from him. 

With Tom's consent, his family is working to ensure that his cats are cared for and his house is rented out until the future looks clearer. Please help us raise enough money to provide regular care for the cats (feeding, medication, love, and potential fostering*)  and to clean out and find temporary renters for his house while he is undergoing physical rehabilitation. 

We're trying to raise a $10,000 cushion. There are so many of us who care about our dancing intellectual, our feisty lefty, our spiritual environmentalist -- that guy who will hand you his heart and who feels all our pain and joy as deeply as his own.
