I want to take a moment to say a deep and sincere thank you to all of you who have donated, reached out, or simply kept us in your thoughts. Your kindness and generosity have been a lifeline for us. I’ll be trying to reach out to each of you individually soon, but in the meantime, please know how much your support means to Tom and our family.

Tom’s road to recovery has been a long and tough one, and it’s not over yet. He’s back in the hospital today with more complications, and his next big surgery is scheduled for the end of October. But through all of this, Tom remains incredibly strong—physically, mentally, and emotionally. In fact, he’s even named his ostomy “Oscar the Angry Ostomy,” proving that while cancer keeps pushing him around, it doesn’t keep him down. His dark sense of humor hasn’t wavered, and even in the most challenging moments, he finds a way to make us laugh.

The financial strain has been real, as cancer treatment comes with costs that go beyond insurance—co-pays, special nutritional needs, and so much more. Tom hasn’t been able to work since June and likely won’t return until after the new year. But thanks to the incredible outpouring of support from all of you, Tom & the kids are making it through this. Your donations, your kind words, and your love have been a beacon of hope during the hardest days.

Tom will get through this, and with friends and family like you by his side, there’s no doubt that brighter days are ahead. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with us.

As many of you know, Tom Rackley has been bravely battling colorectal cancer since May 2024. Over the summer, he has undergone numerous surgeries and procedures in his fight against this relentless disease. Unfortunately, his journey is far from over, with at least 2 to 3 more complex surgeries ahead to reconstruct his intestines. These surgeries have been much more complicated than expected, requiring extended recovery time and leaving Tom unable to work since June.

For those of you who know Tom personally, you know he’s the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back without a second thought. He’s always been someone who puts others first, a kind-hearted, selfless man who has helped so many throughout the years. Now, as he faces this difficult battle, Tom finds himself in need of support.

The medical expenses, supplies, and medications are mounting, along with the everyday costs of simply getting by. His strength, resilience, and positive spirit have been inspiring to everyone who knows him, but the financial strain has been overwhelming.

Many friends have suggested setting up a GoFundMe to help ease this burden. If you’re able, any donation—no matter the size—would mean the world to Tom during this incredibly difficult time. Your support will go towards his medical bills, supplies, and everyday expenses while he focuses on healing and regaining his strength.
