Tom and Leann Peterson have always been proud to call Clinton their home. They both graduated from Clinton High School with the Class of 1981, and this community has been such a big part of their lives ever since.

Over the years, they have tried to give back in every way they could. Tom served two years as a trustee on the Village of Clinton Board and now beginning his third term as Village President. LeAnn ran a daycare for over 20 years, caring for so many local families and their children, she stays busy now with interior painting and house cleaning.

They have donated to and attended many local benefits over the years-always happy to support others in need. Now, life has brought them to a time where they could use that same kindness in return.

On September 3, Tom had heart surgery and has been unable to work since. During a follow-up appointment, doctors discovered an enlarged lymph node and very high PSA levels. After numerous tests, Tom and LeAnn received the difficult news that Tom has prostate cancer, and the lymph node also tested positive.

Surgery will be performed Wednesday October 29. Then Tom will receive a special injection to prepare for radiation therapy soon after that.

We all know how challenging financially the road has been and will continue to be for them, and with Tom being unable to work, it has been tough to keep up. Still, they are trying to stay positive and focus on getting through this together-one day at a time.
