Tom Panzone has been my best friend since I was five years old, and I’ve seen firsthand the kindness and strength he brings to everyone around him. Right now, Tom is facing one of the toughest challenges of his life—a battle with cancer that requires specialized treatment in Boston. After his initial appointment, the doctors have put together an aggressive plan to give him the best chance at recovery. Next week, Tom will undergo another biopsy, and in January, he’ll face a major surgery that will last about 12 hours. The goal is to remove as much of the cancer as possible and apply a chemo patch during the procedure. After surgery, Tom will spend about two weeks in the hospital, followed by more time at the mesothelioma house for observation and follow-up appointments. Once he’s strong enough, he’ll begin a chemotherapy schedule, with the hope that he can eventually continue his treatments closer to home.

This journey will be long and difficult, but Tom is determined to do whatever it takes. The financial burden of traveling to Boston, staying for extended periods, and managing family expenses during treatment is significant. That’s why I’m reaching out for help.
