Tom has been hospitalized and in extended care for the past 8 months, and throughout it all, he has shown incredible strength and determination. He is truly a fighter. We are grateful to share that Tom has made steady progress in his recovery, and we are hopeful that he will be able to return home in the coming weeks. This is a major milestone, but the journey doesn’t end there. As Tom transitions back home, he will need time to regain his independence and secure employment. My name is Sydney, and I am the niece of Tom Matthews (T-Bear) . As many of you know, my uncle has been battling many health issues over the past few years. He has been in and out of the hospital due to heart complications, diabetes, and numerous necessary surgeries. He has spent countless weeks in the ICU, fighting with incredible strength and resilience through each setback.

Tom has always been the kind of person who gives selflessly to others—whether it was lending a helping hand, sharing a laugh, or simply being there when you needed someone. Watching him go through these challenges has been heartbreaking, especially knowing how much he means to all of us. The mounting medical bills, ongoing treatment costs, and lack of steady income during this time have placed an overwhelming financial strain on him and our family.
