Support Tom & Marsha After Medical Emergency
Donation protected
The world of 'Crafters" is a world like no other where workers become family. When one member struggles - we all rally for them. This fundraiser is just such an event. Tom & Marsha are the kind of folks who would do anything to help others, but would struggle to ask for help for themselves. So, I am doing it for them.
On Saturday, Feb 22 after completing a vendor event in Lincoln, NE Tom suffered a serious medical event. Life saving CPR was begun. Defibrillator was used twice and once again in the ambulance. Tom entered the hospital "stable" but in rough shape. The procedure decided upon was "Therapeutic Hypothermia". This involved sedating Tom to a hibernation state. He was sedated for about 72 hours while his body was cooled and then warmed back up. This is to help decrease the chance of brain damage and damage to other organs.
Currently, Tom is talking and has taken a few steps. At the time of this posting Tom is being prepped for surgery to receive a pacemaker defibrillator. In-house rehab will be needed as part of his recovery.
In the craft show world there is no such thing as paid time off.
While Tom is recovering Marsha has decisions to make regarding a balance of caring for Tom and continuing to bring in income. I am starting this fund raising to help my dear friends have a bit of piece of mind in their area of finances while healing is taking place. All contributions will be greatly appreciated by this wonderful couple!
