My Dad, Tom Kennedy, is a devoted husband, a proud father to three daughters, a loving brother, and a loyal friend to so many. For over 50 years, he has worked tirelessly as a contractor, always showing up for his family and community with strength and his utmost dedication. Since October 2013, My Dad has been courageously battling Multiple Myeloma Cancer, enduring countless rounds of chemotherapy and radiation, participating in clinical trials, undergoing spinal surgery, and even receiving a stem cell transplant. Through all this, he has remained resilient and determined for his family. For many years, My Dad was thankfully responding very well to treatment, all while continuing to commute from Cape Cod to Boston's Dana-Farber for ongoing treatment — never letting his diagnosis slow him down.
Recently, our family received the heartbreaking news that his cancer is no longer responding to treatment. My Dad will soon begin a new and intensive treatment: CAR T-cell therapy. This therapy comes with hope for a better quality of life in the near future, but it also comes with a long and difficult road to recovery as he is starting all over again. The treatment will prevent My Dad from working and supporting himself and my family during this time.
We are raising funds to help ease the financial burden on My Dad and our family as he focuses on his health and fighting this disease that has taken over our lives. Medical expenses, travel costs, and everyday living expenses continue to add up without consideration of hardships. Any support — whether through donations or sharing this GoFundMe page — means more than words can express.
Thank you for helping us stand by my amazing Dad as he takes on this next chapter with the same strength and courage he's always shown!
