Hi, we’re Tom and James Smockbor; Husbands, artists, and the two-person team behind Gutterspace, a hand-drawn 2D couch co-op video game built from poetry
We’ve been developing Gutterspace full-time from our apartment in Salem, Massachusetts. It’s a dream project that we are pouring our heat and souls into. All the art, writing, healing, and storytelling is from our own life of trauma from families, relationships and war. The game follows two players who share control of a two-headed skeleton named Tiddle and Dot, exploring a dream like world.
We’re almost there. We’ve poured months of unpaid work into coding, animation, music, and art. But this month, we’ve come up about $250 short on our basic bills… just enough to make things stressful right when we’re close to finishing our next big milestone.
I’m a disabled veteran, and making Gutterspace has been both a creative outlet and a way to turn healing into art. James and I are doing everything ourselves. A small bit of support right now would make a huge difference.
If you can help us you’ll be directly supporting two independent creators finishing something beautiful. Even a few dollars helps.
Thank you so much for reading!
