Tom and Dawn have been cherished friends and pillars of our local music community for decades. Many know Tom as “Mr. Tom the Music Man,” whose joyful performances have brightened schools, Park and Rec programs, churches, and music classes throughout our area. Dawn, too, has been a familiar face, performing with Tom at many familiar venues, coordinating Fireside Concerts in Newbury Park and working at Whole Foods since its days as Mrs. Gooch’s Healthfoods. Their music and kindness have touched so many lives, creating lasting memories and friendships.

Recently, Tom suffered a serious stroke and was discovered by Dawn when he didn’t arrive to pick her up from work. Since December 17, Tom has been at Los Robles Medical Center, where doctors are working to relieve pressure on his brain and manage his recovery. The road ahead is uncertain, and Dawn has been away from work, spending long days at the hospital by Tom’s side—helping with his care, supporting his rehabilitation, and making sure he’s as comfortable as possible.
