Support Tom and Sherrie's Recovery from Flood
Donation protected
The morning that Hurricane Helene hit North Carolina, my mom and dad (Tom and Sherrie Carris) woke to floodwaters entering the home. Within an hour, it had risen to their knees. Emergency services were contacted, but they were rescuing people who had suffered injuries. Fortunately, a neighbor and her son took it upon themselves to kayak around the neighborhood rescuing people. Mom and dad were two of the people she rescued. They were taken to her Airbnb, and she sheltered them for two nights as all roads blocked me from getting to them.
The floodwaters devastated their home, and their car was flooded. Clothes, appliances, and furniture were ruined. We are raising funds to help them purchase a used vehicle to replace the one ruined. This is critical as dad and mom need to be able to maintain their independence to travel to doctor's appointments and physical therapy while I work. Any amount will be appreciated.
