Support Token And Founders Will and Nicole After Studio Fire

Late on September 17, a massive fire swept through a warehouse in Red Hook, Brooklyn, destroying Token’s studio and the studios of many fellow artists. Token has called this space home since 2010 and has spent 15 years creating, building, and sharing work with the community. In one night, everything was lost: their tools, materials, and works in progress.

Token is led by artist and designer Will Kavesh and his partner Nicole Cornell, who together have built a remarkable studio that reflects their vision, dedication, and the community they have nurtured around them. Over the years, Token has grown and collaborated with designers, architects, and clients across the world to build something more than just furniture, creating functional works of art that carry their unique touch.

This is not the first time Red Hook and its creative community have faced hardship. The neighborhood and the studio were also greatly affected during Hurricane Sandy, and the resilience shown then is a reminder of the strength that exists here now.

Right now, no one knows what the full road to recovery will look like. What is clear is that Will, Nicole, and the Token team cannot walk it alone. Donations will help them begin to stabilize after this loss, covering immediate needs, supporting their team, replacing equipment and materials, and, we hope, rebuilding a new studio where Token can continue to create.
