Support Todd's Heart Transplant Journey

Todd has been approved for a heart transplant We are both thrilled and terrified. He is not yet on the waitlist but will be in the next couple of weeks. 

He will need to relocate to Rochester, MN while his family remains in Michigan. The cost will be around $1000 per month for him to stay at the Gift of Life Transplant House (room & food). 

If you are able to donate, it is greatly appreciated. Todd has terrible guilt about the cost of relocating and we want to ease this burden. Please share this information! The more people we can reach the closer he is to getting a new heart ♥️

Todd needs a new heart!

After many years of struggling with heart issues including quad bypass, 37 stents, a failed trial device, and multiple procedures, Todd is finally able to start the process of getting a heart transplant.

We are working with Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN which requires him to travel throughout this process. Once he is accepted as a heart recipient and put on “the list” he will need to move closer to Mayo.

Todd has lived his life caring for others. He was in the Army as a paratrooper and served his country for many years! After the military he continued to serve the public as a police officer, firefighter, and paramedic. He was on the ground in NYC on 9/11 and did his part with recovery efforts.

Todd has been married to Bethany (Mooney Nowak) McLean, from Traverse City, Michigan, for 5 years and between them they have 11 children and several additional bonus children that they care deeply about. Family is so very important. Bethany is an education specialist at a local small business that helps non-traditional students complete their diplomas online with in-person support. She has earned her master’s degree and has dedicated her life to supporting the special education population.

Todd is the first one to say, “I can help with that”, or his famous- “I know a guy”. Now he needs your help. He will need to continue to maintain his home in Traverse City while making frequent trips to the amazing Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
