Support Todd's Flock After Sweet Pea's Loss

Hello, my name is Todd, most know me as Toadster on TikTok. I have a flock of 9 birds, which I share our story with my TT family and local friends. Most are rescues. I help people with bird questions and answer concerns. Along the way, we have fun and it's educational at the same time. We all have each other's backs. We share real-life situations, good and bad.

I've had my spell of bad luck the past year or longer, including the loss of 4 of my most precious babies. I moved after 14 years, mostly on my own. My ex helps with the birds; the rest is me. I've had 10 spine surgeries, most recent in June, with major cervical stabilization and scoliosis with pressure on my spinal cord. My whole body was going numb. So after the surgeries and copays, with nothing extra coming in from side hustles, it's tight. It's tight for everyone.

Now, I've just had Chloé and Sweet Pea both get sick and require avian vet visits and meds. I lost my dear Sweet Pea, a 24-year-old Sun Conure. I had her for 4 years, maybe longer. But she was not used to getting out of her cage. When I got her, it took me almost 3 months to get her to come out on her own, then get her in as best I could with the rest of the flock. She has been such a sweet bird and so calm. Sickness came up suddenly and took her from me all in one day. I'm devastated and brokenhearted.

Neither are cheap, so I come to you to see if you could help an old bird lover and all-around good guy with the cost of the 2 vet bills. I can't carry a balance or a payment. I'm trying to refinance my house as well to give me a little breathing room. I can't imagine having to leave here with 8 birds and afford anything cheaper with them. I do handyman work on the side but can't now with my neck. It's humbling to ask others, but at my age, you do what ya gotta do.
