Uncle Todd has been the rock of our family and he always has put others before himself. There is no one else with a bigger heart. He’s been the care taker of his parents for the past few decades and he has helped support/raise his 4 nieces and nephew. From volleyball/basketball games to musicals/horseback riding, to joining the military, capturing precious moments with our camera or diving deep into the ocean, Uncle Todd has been our #1 supporter.
Now it’s our turn to take care of him.
A couple weeks ago, he received a surprised diagnosis of MDS (Myelodysplastic Syndrome) when going in for a check up. This is a form of blood cancer, when the bone marrow can’t produce mature blood cells. My Uncle wasn’t showing any symptoms, but the doctors said he needs to start Chemo (next Monday) in order to keep it from turning into Acute Leukemia. He will need a bone marrow transplant within the next couple months.
The funds that we raise will go straight to paying for his chemo treatments, his month long stay at the hospital for his bone marrow transplant and hopefully to hire some in home healthcare help.
Uncle Todd has many roles in our family; son, brother, uncle, god father and great uncle. Family is not defined just by blood, but by love and support. We are grateful for any support, prayers, thoughts and love.
