I was diagnosed with tongue-based cancer in late January/early February of 2024. As with any cancer, the fear of anyone who has been diagnosed is the chance of recurrence. I was statistically in a great space for having this in my rearview mirror. A couple weeks ago we went to the ER due to a concern that I had and was given an X-Ray and CT. Both images showed a concerning mass in the upper lobe of my right lung. After having a biopsy, the doctor called to inform me of the news. It is hard to put into words, just how hard that freight train hit. Michelle and I were devastated. I had no exit ramp, no detour and no shortcut as to how I could ease this instant burden. I have had both WakeMed and now UNC working on my case and we have had meetings with both oncology teams to come up with a treatment plan. In addition to both hospitals, we have been consulting with a Cancer treatment center in Arizona. We have made the decision to go to AZ for my treatment. They use a targeted and specialized chemo as well as many other things to create an environment in the body to kill off these bad cells, while protecting the good ones. The specialized chemo and other state of the art treatments are not covered under insurance. In addition to the prayers I know you all will provide, I am humbly asking for support with donations through GoFundMe. The program at this Cancer center is promising not only to treat my current diagnosis but hopefully allow me to never have to deal with this awful disease again. I know that the amount we are requesting may seem astronomical, and it is, what we are asking for is just some help for a portion of what we will be spending to heal me. We appreciate all the prayers you can send our way. I will win this battle and put this chapter of my life behind me forever. God bless and thank you, Todd, Michelle and Colton St. Clair
