We are excited to share the great news that Todd is back home! Daily life will look different for a while and we're still settling into the changes, but we are also embracing the blessing of each day together. Thanks again for your love and support.

On Monday, March 23rd, the Lucas family's lives changed in an instant. Todd, our sister Melanie's husband of 23 years, was the victim of a violent hit-and-run. While courageously attempting to identify the fleeing vehicle to protect others on the road, his car was fired upon multiple times.
One of Mel and Todd's six sons was in the vehicle with him. In a moment of outstanding bravery, their son performed immediate first aid on his father until help arrived. Because of his quick actions, the work of first responders, the expertise of medical staff at Froedtert Hospital, and God’s grace, Todd survived.
The road back is not a straight line; it is a long, deliberate climb. While Todd’s spirit remains steady, the physical and financial weight of this journey is more than any one family is meant to carry alone. The family is navigating a landscape of medical bills, recovery costs, and the daily realities that don't pause even when life is turned upside down.
The Urgent Need for Support
Most critically, the family is navigating this crisis without medical insurance. In the absence of a safety net, the mounting costs of specialized trauma surgery, inpatient hospital stays, and ongoing home medical supplies rest entirely on their shoulders.
