My name is Todd, and I’m fighting to hold on after the worst year of my life.

Last year, right as I filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy to get a fresh start from years of grinding, my wife, who was supposed to take the financial reins while I rebuilt passed away suddenly, just five days later. We had a plan: I’d take the hit on my credit, discharge the old debts, and she’d handle things moving forward so we could keep the house. Her death shattered that plan and left me juggling everything alone, with no lending options to fall back on.

I’ve been hustling non-stop since then, doing whatever it took to keep the mortgage paid and the car running. But trying to rebuild without any borrowing power has finally caught up. I’m now months behind on the house and car payments. Losing my home would leave me with nowhere to go. Losing the car would kill my ability to get to work.

This campaign is strictly to catch up the overdue mortgage payments and bring the car loan current, nothing else. It’s about buying the time I need to get back on solid ground.

I’ve never been the type to ask for help, but right now I need it. Even $10 or $20 adds up and means everything. If you can’t give, a share helps just as much.
