There are those people in our lives who seemingly get hit by life's blows one after another. The Carey family seems to be some of those people and yet they continue to persevere and try to make the best of each new wave. Their community was so supportive during their oldest son, Malakai's, cancer journey and we all get the opportunity to come alongside them again. On Sunday evening, doctors found a large tumor in the frontal lobe of Todd's brain. He is currently at UCLA and will have surgery on Friday to remove the tumor. Cheri has shared their biggest stress right now (besides getting Todd well) is finances. Todd is in between jobs and is in the process of looking for a new job. By God's grace, they still have medical insurance for the time being. The amount raised will be able to cover their $10,000 deductible and other immediate financial needs. Update: Todd’s surgery is scheduled for tomorrow (1/31) at 7:30am. Please pray they will be able to remove the entire tumor and that Todd’s brain will be completely healed! A big praise is that Cheri found out today she received misinformation from her insurance company - The hospital where the surgery will take place IS covered by insurance
