Hi, my name is Tessa and I am reaching out for support for my cat Toby.

Just a couple days after Toby’s 1st birthday, he experienced a medical emergency. I noticed Toby was struggling to pee and wasn’t his usual self, so I rushed him to the emergency vet around 2am. I learned that he had a urinary blockage, and that this could have become life-threatening if not treated quickly. Thankfully, he received the care he needed right away and after 48 hours in emergency is now back home and recovering.

I am so grateful that he is safe, however the emergency visit resulted in very high veterinary costs. Toby also now needs to be on a lifelong prescription urinary diet to help prevent this from happening again. This food is essential for his health, and roughly costs around $150 per month.

I am currently a full-time university student, and while I’m doing everything I can to manage these expenses, the combination of the emergency bill and ongoing care has been overwhelming.
