Hi, my name is Suzanne Williams, and I’m writing this on behalf of my daughter in law, Lisa Bone, and her horse rescue, Toby's Legacy Equine Rescue. She founded the rescue in 2012 and has devoted her heart, time, and strength to it every day since.
Lisa rescues and cares for horses that have nowhere else to go. These animals depend on her completely for feeding, medical care, daily chores, and the love and patience she gives them no matter the weather or how tired she is, all while working full time as a paramedic. She has never turned her back on an animal in need. If you would like to see the wonderful work she does, please take a look at the rescues Facebook page,
Unfortunately, Lisa now needs back surgery and will be unable to work to support the rescue financially or physically care for the horses for an extended period of time. This surgery is necessary, but it means everything she normally does—feeding, hauling hay, mucking stalls, and providing daily care—will have to be handled by paid help while she recovers.
To make matters more difficult, her husband, my son, is currently on disability after shoulder surgery, and likely will not be able to return to work for at least another five months. Together, they simply don’t have the financial ability to cover the expenses of the rescue and the additional medical expenses on their own.
We are asking for help to cover:
Hay and feed for the horses
Veterinary and routine animal care
Paid help for daily feeding, cleaning, and chores
Our Goal is to raise $25,000.
This amount would help cover several months of animal care, hay, and hired help while Lisa heals and works toward getting back on her feet—and back to the rescue she loves.
Every donation, no matter the size, makes a real difference. Toby's Legacy is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and all donations are tax deductible. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser means just as much and helps us reach others who may be able to help.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for taking the time to read her story, for your kindness, and for supporting Lisa, the rescue, and the animals who depend on her. We are beyond grateful for any help, prayers, or shares during this difficult time.
With sincere gratitude,
Suzanne
