Support Toby's Fight Against Brain Cancer
Donation protected
Hi, we’re Kyle, John, and Michael — close friends of Toby Mason.
We’re raising funds to support Toby, who was recently diagnosed with Astrocytoma Grade 2 or 3, an incurable form of brain cancer. On May 13, he will undergo an extensive, 12 hour brain surgery at UCSF Medical Center, where specialist surgeons will work to remove as much of the cancer as possible.
Due to the diffuse nature and placement of the tumors, complete removal isn’t a viable option. Following surgery, Toby will face a minimum of 2 months, almost certainly more of recovery and therapy before he will begin months, possibly years of radiation and chemotherapy in an effort to keep the cancer at bay. A biopsy of the tumor after surgery will provide more clarity about how aggressive the cancer is and what the road ahead will look like.
Toby is only 38 years old and facing the fight of his life. He’s one of the most loyal, sincere, and extraordinary people we know — and now, he needs our support. This fund will help Toby and his wife manage the immense financial burden of surgery, treatment, lost income, and daily living expenses.
As a self-employed music engineer, Toby doesn’t have access to paid leave or employer-sponsored benefits during this time. Every dollar raised will help cover essentials — from rent and groceries to travel for treatment, post-operative care, and months of rehabilitation.
We’re asking for your help so they can focus on healing — not survival. Every donation, every share, and every kind word helps. Toby and his wife will be updating us as things progress. We will share news as we have it available.
Thanks everyone,
Kyle, John & Michael
