As many of you know I had the greatest pleasure of witnessing my eldest daughter Amber marry her best friend Tobi. Their story from the beginning to now, is one of resilience, strength, the truest love I've ever seen, two young people who have already endured so much and with God go to war for one another. They make my heart so full and proud.

My son in law Tobi (soon to be 32 years of age) is a proud husband to my daughter, step-father to my beautiful grandson Remmington (13 years old), and an expectant father with baby on the way! (Due November 25th), Marine Corps Veteran, a hard working provider for his sweet little family, and faithful man of God.

Shortly after Tobi and Amber learned the news of their sweet baby on the way ... they also took a blow with a devastating diagnosis no one wants to hear. Tobi has been diagnosed with stage 2-3 rectal cancer. Since his diagnosis life as you can imagine has been flipped and turned upside down. One thing my daughter recently told me that cancer has taught her is you cannot have expectations. You cannot get too upset or too relieved. Anything can change at any moment. The positive forward outlook these two have is admirable and tear jerking. They never give up no matter what they always see the blessings. Even thru the hardest of times.

Tobi has to undergo 6 weeks of chemotherapy and radiation treatments 5 days a week {Monday-Friday), then wait a month to recoup, then rectal surgery in which they plan to remove 80% of his rectum, in which he will have to wear a colostomy bag, recover from surgery, then a resection surgery to reconnect the colon and rectum. This is the plan of course and can lead well into the next year to come; we pray it goes as smooth as that even with the challenges that lay ahead.

Since Tobi's diagnosis, he has had to miss a lot of work/ loss of wages.. to make his doctors appointments that keep piling up. He has an exceptional, outstanding team of doctors aiding in his treatments, care, and even providing support to my daughter and their little family. Eventually Tobi will not be able to work and short term disability does not provide full pay.

Along with their family fighting cancer; my daughter has been put on minimal activity possible future bed rest for the remainder of her pregnancy due to a subchorionic hemorrhage. She is in her early weeks of 2nd trimester.

As you can imagine the stress isn't good for either of them and even my grandson as their circumstances impact their family as a whole unit. 

I would love to help lessen the burdens and stress looming over their heads and help them focus on healing and their family. Our donations will help Tobi and Amber to make sure they do not fall behind on their bills, as they recently moved into their first home together, are able to prepare for the needs of baby to come, cover the everyday necessities of life, and any medical expenses including travel that are not covered by insurance.

If you know my son in law Tobi and my daughter Amber, you know they would give their shirts off their back for anyone. Two of the most selfless people I know.
