Dear Family & Friends,
With heavy hearts, we share the sudden and unexpected passing of our beloved son, husband, and brother - Chukwuka Okoli aka Oyibo who left us far too soon on July 25, 2025, due to complications from a vaso-occlusive crisis following a brief three-day illness.
Chukwuka was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a beacon of hope, love, and strength to many. He was the only surviving child of his mother with sickle cell disease. Chukwuka lived with sickle cell not as a limitation, but as a testament to his strength, resilience, and unwavering spirit. For 35 years, he faced each day with courage- often in silence weathering pain that many could never imagine, yet offering a smile, kind words and a presence that brought comfort and joy to others.
Chukwuka got married in 2022 to Benita Okoli and is also survived by his 1 year old son - Tobe. He was the pillar of his family — their provider, protector, and constant source of encouragement. His untimely passing has created not only a deep emotional void but also an overwhelming financial burden for his young family as they begin to navigate life without him.
Though we mourn Chukwuka’s untimely death, we also celebrate the light he shared and the battles of sickle cell disease he fought bravely.
We can honor his memory by helping carry those dreams forward — especially for the little boy he loved so deeply.
We are trusting God with our all, and also asking that you join us in prayers and any support possible to help ease this burden that Chukwuka’s family now face. Your generous contributions will go directly towards funeral expenses, and the lifetime expense/education of his son.
No amount is too small, and every gesture of support will mean the world to his child and wife. Please continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers during this time of profound sorrow.
With heartfelt gratitude,
The Family of Chukwuka Okoli
