Support Toast's Recovery: Medical Funds Needed
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Han, and I’m reaching out with love and urgency to ask for help for my sweet pet, Toast.
Recently, Toast went to urgent care and the ER when we noticed he was more lethargic than usual with an extremely low appetite for the past few days. We took the initiative to take him to the vet when we saw his gums and tongue extremely pale. The vet has recommended a blood transfusion and a lot of labs to rule out any autoimmune disease or cancer that is attacking his body right now. The vet said there might be a possibility he might have immune related hemolytic anemia since his platelets are low, hopefully it’s nothing too serious.
The total cost of care is estimated at $7462 (or more since he might start on whatever medication after finding the correct diagnosis). The cost which includes both urgent care and ER visits, as well as a 24-hour stay with transfusions, ultrasounds, X-rays, labs, and more. As much as I want to cover everything myself, it’s more than I can manage alone. That’s why I’m turning to you guys for support and I’m asking for whatever amount that can be given to help him and i’ll do my best to help him as well. Which is why i’m only asking for 5k as a start amount.
Toast has been my companion and best friend for almost 7 years. It’s almost his birthday as well (05/19/2018)! He is such a people person; he loves attention from humans of all sorts and he made a lot of friends along the way growing up. Toast isn’t just a pet; he’s family!
Every dollar donated brings us one step closer to getting Toast the help he needs. If you’re unable to donate, even sharing this will help us a lot!
Thank you for taking the time to read Toast’s story. Your kindness and support—whether big or small—will help give him a fighting chance.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Han & Toast

the vet called and told me they just got his ultrasounds results and the results became positive for cancer in his spleen. we’re doing another 24 hour stay which is another 2,652 which includes the stay, cytology, another ultrasound, and medication/ivfluids. Hopefully his cancer is benign and not malignant.
UPDATE: 5/06/25
we took toast home around 8:30am and the vet said he is clear for discharge and he would only need to get a vet appointment soon this week to check his blood results and see if he needs another transfusion. the vet also told us they will let us know when they get the results for the IHA test, tick born disease lab, and cytology for cancer by tomorrow. We’re feeding him plain diet and he was prescribed medication as well that will start around 5 tonight. Toasty is definitely calmer and feels less anxious now that he is home. He has more energy to walk around now.
Update: 5/08/25
His appetite is less today. gum and tongue is getting paler.
received a call from the vet of the cytology/pathology result. he’s positive for cancer and it’s malignant. it’s called histiocystic sarcoma.
i want to be fully transparent on how much we are spending for toast and all of the proceeds will all go towards toast and his medical needs. total amount is ~$10,114. the amount will probably raise due to future vet visits with blood tests and a possible transfusion if needed. Again, we only set the amount at 5k because we will try to do the best we can finance this ourselves as much as possible and the amount we’re asking will give us a better chance at financial stability while being able to care for him.
