Rebuilding after my mom's kidnapping, assault, and murder

I am writing to you today from a place of desperation. On October 25th, 2025, after being dropped off by a taxi to recover my birth certificate from my home, I was viciously stalked and assaulted by Thomas Thompson of Scio, Oregon. His mother, Joan Thompson, made a false report to the police that she witnessed (she hid in her bedroom while her son did what he did, and police arrested me while I was off the property on my way to call 911). I was immediately let go, without any of my belongings, and contracted Pneumonia in the hours I walked trying to charge my phone and call for help.

It is an event that has exacerbated an already dire situation as I am homeless. This trauma is the culmination of a lifetime of abuse, and I can't remember a time where my immediate safety and well-being weren't in extreme emergency.

My partner, my rock and muse, my best friend; we just spent five years of marriage together. They found me—we had grown up across the street but only met as adults—and our connection is not just my bridge but my temple. My partner remains trapped in an abusive situation, and they desperately need to escape. Our only goal is to reunite, finally be safe, and begin the fresh start we've been fighting for.

To recap, my partner and I were victims of severe abuse—sexual, financial, and physical—at the hands of our far-right Trump cult, religious extremist families. As soon as we had the courage to go to the police and report the crimes committed against us, we were made homeless and extorted out of the few resources we had. These families, long weaponize their extremist ideology to isolate and control others. For us, it all started when we were children, forced into a cult-like homeschooling environment of "unlearning" and constant threat. I was subjected to emotional torture, racist degradation about my heritage (my mother, Ruma Hamid, was from Bangladesh, a woman I sadly never met), and forced labor under the guise of religious talent.

Every dollar meant for my care was stolen or used to maintain a system of abuse. They actively sabotaged every attempt I made to get medical, emotional, or financial support to escape. The lies, the threats, the constant manipulation—was a life of slavery.

My partner and I are lucky to be alive. Now, we are fighting not just for survival, but for the legal protections and justice we deserve. Contributions will go directly toward our most urgent needs for safety and legal action:

1. Immediate Safety & Shelter ($875): Funds to secure temporary, safe housing so I can get off the streets, and my partner can successfully and safely escape their abusive environment. This is the most critical and urgent need.

2. Legal Fees & Court Costs ($1,200): We have attorneys lined up to take over the case from the detective we've been working with. These funds are vital to pursue accountability against our abusers and secure our future.

3. Medical/Hospital Fees ($500): A great deal of my free time is spent in group therapy, grief counseling, and psychologist sessions. I had to increase my care and I'm in much worse shape.

Please help Us reunite, to a safer place. If you connect or empathize with our story, understand that every dollar brings us one step closer to ending this nightmare, supporting each other again, and starting a life free from fear.
