Support to Malcolm Scott and Family for Medical

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind-hearted Strangers,

I am reaching out to you today as a friend of the Scott Family and with a heavy heart but also with a glimmer of hope on behalf of Malcolm Scott.

Malcolm, who has been an inspiration of strength and resilience in our community, has recently undergone unimaginable challenges in his battle against Squamous cell carcinoma (cancer.)

Malcolm a non-smoker had sinus-type symptoms mid-last year. Malcolm's life changed forever when his ENT confirmed the worst, a large tumor on the back of his tongue (Squamous Cell Carcinoma - Cancer).

Malcolm's journey has taken a devastating turn as he underwent a total laryngectomy and glossectomy, leaving him without the ability to speak or swallow. The medical team advised Malcolm's wife, Sandy, and their twin boys, Malcolm Jr. and August that there was a 30% survival rate for the surgery to remove Malcolm's tongue and take veins out of his legs to put into his neck. Malcolm ever the fighter, survived the surgery. Malcolm is now home and under daily care. Every day has been challenging, from infections to colds. With Malcolm not being able to work, his medical benefits provided through his employer ceased on January 31, 2024.

Imagine waking up one day, and the voice you've always known, the voice that brought laughter, comfort, and joy to those around you, is suddenly gone. Imagine the frustration of not being able to express your thoughts, feelings, or needs in the simplest of ways. This is the reality that Malcolm has faced every day since his surgery.

However, as with many medical treatments, it comes with a hefty price tag.

That's why we're turning to you, for support. Malcolm has always been there for us, whether lending a helping hand, offering a listening ear, or simply sharing his infectious laughter. Now it's our turn to support Malcolm by showing him he is not alone in this fight.

Your generous contributions will go directly towards covering the cost of Malcolm's post-operative care, rehabilitation, and any unforeseen medical expenses.

Every dollar raised counts, and no donation is too small.

Together, we can make a difference in Malcolm's life and help him on his journey to recovery from ongoing medical bills.

Let's come together as a community and lift Malcolm during this challenging time. Let's give him the gift of connection and the gift of hope. With your support, we can come together and make a difference for this family.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, generosity, and love.

With gratitude,
Friend of Family,
Jill M. Kizyma
