Support to help Victoria fight Ankylosing Spondylitis
Donation protected
Hi! I’m Victoria. I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease called Ankylosing Spondylitis a couple of years ago after being in chronic pain for years. It started mild but has progressed rapidly over the past couple of years.
C3-7 and L4-5 in my spine are all degenerating. I have radiculopathy in both my left arm and leg, cervical facet syndrome, degenerative disc disease, osteoarthritis in my hands and feet, tendinitis, plantar fasciitis, narcolepsy, and it has also affected my bladder, giving me a second autoimmune condition called interstitial cystitis.
I’m on about 13 medications a day to try and slow the disease down to no avail, and as it keeps rapidly spreading, I’m hoping to raise money to get HSCT treatment done to stop the disease progression.
I’ve had multiple ESIs done, and now they’re looking to implant a device in my spine to try and reduce my pain, but the only thing they can do for my hands is high doses of steroids that ultimately will eat away at my bones.
I have two beautiful babies I’m struggling to take care of because my pain levels are so high, and my goal is to finish graduate school and be a mental health counselor, but I’m worried the disease is spreading too quickly and all that will be cut short.
I appreciate you taking the time to read this! If you have any questions, please reach out to me.
