Support to help resilient victims of Helene in Florida

Hurricane Helene upended the lives of so many people, including Pattie and Phil Pedersen, Mary’s dear sister and brother-in-law. Their house near the coast in Homosassa (north of Tampa FL) took on at least 5 feet of storm surge. This has destroyed appliances, furniture, and personal belongings. The house will need major repairs. Phil is hard-working and capable, and will be able to do much of the needed work. But like so many Floridians, Pattie and Phil were simply priced out of adequate insurance and will have to cover all of this out-of-pocket. Their church, family and community are all rallying to help them however possible. But there is no way to escape the fact that so much of what they need now is unfunded. Please consider providing whatever assistance you can and help them help themselves get their life back in order.
