I'm raising money to support a former Afghan interpreter and his family.

My name is Paul Carroll (Maj ret'd) and I served in the Canadian Armed Forces for 25 years. I am providing financial and emotional support to Fida Hussain as he tries to find safe passage for his young family. I have been working with families like Fida's since the summer of 21 as part of the larger evacuation effort.

Fida, his wife and 5 children have been stranded in Pakistan since September 2021 awaiting approval to come to Canada.

He and his family left Afghanistan under duress and have only the clothes on their backs. There is NO government support fprovided to him either from Canada or Pakistan.

A number of Canadian and US veterans have been donating funds and now we are seeking additional support due to unforeseen medical bills for Fida, his wife and young daughter. His daughter has had pneumonia, his wife is undergoing treatment for an ailment and Fida has medical requirements as well.

Our goal is to raise enough money to support his family for another 6 months assuming he will be resettled in Canada by then. His monthly expenses are running at USD$500.

Donations will be transferred to him by me via Western Union in Islamabad.

Any additional/residual funds will be used to help with resettlement expenses for the Hussain family
