Dear Friends and Supporters,
On the unfortunate day of December 9th, Sameer Shevate (only 24 years), the cherished and only child of his middle-class family in India, met with a tragic car accident in Georgia. Sameer, a passionate farmer and an expert in his field, was visiting the US when this unforeseen incident occurred. He had a zest for life, enjoying hobbies like football and trekking.
As we all know, such unexpected tragedies not only leave an emotional void but also bring financial challenges. Sameer's untimely demise has left his farmer parents, who heavily relied on their beloved son, in a precarious situation. His father, a retired farmer from a small village near Saswad, Maharashtra, is now facing the heartbreaking reality of losing his only child, and the financial burden associated with bringing Sameer's body back to India is overwhelming.
We are rallying together with the support of the Indian consulate, Maharashtra Mandal Atlanta and Team Aid to facilitate the process of transporting Sameer’s remains back home. The expenses for air cargo and the necessary formalities amount to approximately $15,000 USD. We humbly appeal to your generosity and compassion to assist in raising the required funds to cover these expenses.
Any surplus funds collected beyond the transportation costs will be extended to the family to help them cope with their loss and the financial strain.
Your contributions, no matter the size, will be deeply appreciated and will go a long way in providing solace and support to Sameer's grieving family during this incredibly challenging time.
With heartfelt thanks,
Maharashtra Mandal Atlanta, Team Aid, and Supporting Team
