Hi, my name is Ailyn, and I’m writing on behalf of the Herrmann family to help raise funds for my father-in-law, Alan Herrmann.

On July 9th, Alan was viciously assaulted outside Bonasera, a local pub in SE Calgary. He is currently in critical condition, in a coma in the ICU, and still fighting for his life. This senseless act of violence has already caused long-term damage: Alan has suffered a broken occipital bone and significant brain trauma. The full extent of his brain damage won’t be known until he wakes up, but we do know that his road to recovery will be long — and possibly permanent.

The attacker was a trained boxer who targeted someone twice his age. As a result of this brutal act, Alan will not be able to return to work anytime soon. Doctors have indicated he will likely remain in the hospital for several months.

We’re asking for your support to help ease the financial burden on the Herrmann family — covering medical expenses, recovery needs, and the costs of bringing Alan home when that day comes.
