Hello, my name is Ahmet Selim Çakır. I am a 12th-grade student at Samsun Garip Zeycan Yıldırım Science High School. This year, I was accepted into computer science and engineering from Delft Technical University in the Netherlands. Can you convey this message to the people around you and help me?

The school is ranked 47th best in the world and 44th best in the world for computer science according to QS World rankings. According to the ranking, it is the best English-language school for computer engineering in the European Union.

To enter the school, it is mandatory to pass the entrance exam held by the school itself. Those who fail in this exam cannot be admitted to the school under any circumstances. Although the exam is difficult and eliminative, it consists of 3 branches: Mathematics, Logic, and Algorithmic Thinking. In mathematics, there were calculus and vector questions at the university 1 level. They also look at English proficiency and grades, I got a 7.5 in IELTS and a full score(5) in AP Calculus BC, Physics 1, and Computer Science A. As a result, although the student profile was competitive, I entered the top 550 in the multi-stage evaluation and earned the right to go to school.

The university is 3 years like in other European countries. Unfortunately, the Dutch government does not provide any support to international students in terms of scholarships and loans. In my family, my mother is a housewife and my father is retired.

For international students, €16,675 per year is required. Due to Delft's location, living costs are €1100 per month (€13,200 per year). Of the monthly expenses, €700 goes to rent and €400 to basic expenses. Under Dutch law, students can work a maximum of 16 hours per month and earn an average of €250, with the student expected to cover the rest of the costs themselves.

By July 1st, I need to deposit one year's worth of tuition and living expenses.

The university has a great reputation in the country, Europe, and the world, and the job opportunities after graduation are very wide. My goal is to improve myself as much as possible and become a good software engineer. After researching the graduate profiles, I think that within a year and a half of working, I will cover the expenses of my entire education fee. If you see fit, I can repay the scholarships when I work. I only need your support for 3 years.

When donating, you might think the site takes a 16% commission, but that commission indicates how much you want to contribute to the site, apart from my campaign. You can even set it to 0% if you wish.

Merhabalar, ben Ahmet Selim Çakır. Samsun Garip Zeycan Yıldırım Fen lisesinde 12.sınıf öğrencisiyim. Bu sene Hollanda’da bulunan Delft Teknik üniversitesinden bilgisayar bilimleri ve mühedisliği alanından (computer science&engineering) kabul aldım. Okula girmek için okulun kendi yaptığı giriş sınavını geçmek zorunlu. Bu sınavda başarılı olamayanlar hangi şartla olursa olsun okula kabul alamıyorlar. Sınav zor ve eleyici olmakla birlikte 3 daldan oluşuyor: Matematik, Mantık (Logic), Algoritmik Düşünme. Matematik alanında üniversite 1 düzeyinde kalkülüs ve vektör soruları vardı. Ayrıca İngilizce yeterliliğine ve notlara bakıyorlar, ben IELTS’den 7.5 ve AP Calculus BC, Physics 1 ve Computer Science A sınavından tam puan(5) almıştım. Bütün bunlar sonucunda, öğrenci profili rekabetçi olmakla birlikte çok aşamalı değerlendirmede ilk 550’e girdim ve okula gitme hakkı kazandım.

Üniversite diğer Avrupa ülkeleri gibi 3 yıllıktır. Hollanda hükümeti maalesef uluslararası öğrencilere burs ve kredi anlamında herhangi bir destek olmuyor. Ailemde annem ev hanımı, babam ise emekli.

Uluslararası öğrenciler için yıllık 16.675€ isteniyor. Delft’in konumundan dolayı yaşam masrafları aylık 1100€ (13.200€ yıllık) oluyor. Aylık masrafın 700€ kira, 400€ temel giderlere gidiyor. Hollanda yasalarına göre öğrenciler aylık en fazla 16 saat çalışabiliyor ve ortalama 250€ kazanabiliyorlar, geriye kalan masrafları öğrencinin kendi karşılaması bekleniyor.

1 Temmuza kadar bir yıllık eğitim ve yaşam masraflarını yatırmam gerekiyor.

Üniversitenin ülkede, Avrupa’da ve dünyada büyük bir saygınlığı var ve mezun olduktan sonra iş imkanları çok geniş. Benim amacım ise kendimi olabildiğince geliştirip iyi bir yazılım mühendisi olabilmek. Mezun profillerini araştırdıktan sonra, çalıştıktan sonra bir buçuk sene içinde bütün eğitim hayatımda masrafları karşılayabilecek duruma geleceğimi düşünüyorum. Eğer uygun görürseniz çalıştığım zaman bursları geri ödeyebilirim. Sadece 3 yıllık süreçte sizlerin desteğine ihtiyacım var.
