Support TNR Efforts for Kitsap County's Feral Cats

Pawsitive Change for Kitsap Cats in Kitsap County, WA is a loose group of dedicated volunteer cat rescue and TNR folks whose goal is to educate and assist members of the community who are trying to Trap/Neuter/Return and help the feral cats in their neighborhoods. Currently, we are trying to raise enough funds to help a kind-hearted woman in Poulsbo pay for 45 Trap/Neuter/Return/Vaccinate surgery appointments at Kitsap Humane Society.

Becky F. of Poulsbo took it upon herself to get to know Wendy, the feeder/caretaker of a large, out-of-control feral cat colony at a mobile park near her home, and offered to assist with organizing and carrying out a TNR effort to get the whole colony snipped and vaxxed.

Becky was able to pay for the surgery fees ($28-$33 per cat) for the first five cats trapped, but is unable to continue paying for the other 45+ cats at the site, although she is still working with other volunteers to set surgery appointments, trap, hold, transport, and then allow time in holding for post-surgery recovery before the cats are returned to their outdoor home.

We were hoping to be able to utilize a grant from an organization called SpayUSA, but unfortunately that grant money has dried up for the forseeable future and this colony can't wait.

Our ask is for TNR surgery and vaccination fees for 45 cats at this site. We are assuming the higher cost of $33 per cat (this includes treatment for any noticeable parasites), and figuring in some possible extra costs due to surgeries that may have complications like cryptorchid males or pregnant females. Any amount donated that is over the cost incurred will go to food for the cats and/or surgeries for the next colony we help with.
