My kind but misguided uncle has been feeding 16 feral cats in his backyard. Last week, I started the process of TNR'ing as many of them as possible. It now has become clear that few, if any, will be adequately socialized and adopted out. Given this, a local rescue has agreed to help place as many cats as possible with the Good Shepherd Cat Sanctuary in Delmar, MD.
So far, I have used my own disposable income to pay for the spay/neuter of 6 cats. We have 10 more to go! Each spay/neuter package costs around $100/cat. The Sanctuary charges $350/cat to house, feed, and provide medical care. A steal! In total, this would mean about $6,000 to spay/neuter and rehome the remaining 10-15 cats. Any leftover funds will be donated to Sunshine Friend's Rescue.
