We are raising money for legal fees to put my brother‘s murderer behind bars where he belongs.

My brother TJ was camping at Lake Cumberland with his longtime friend on Fourth of July weekend. He called 911 and confessed to the murder and was arrested and taken in on murder charges in Pulaski County, Kentucky. However, their grand jury decided not to indict him and release him last week on the “stand your ground“ law.

The shooter was intoxicated, there were no witnesses, and my brother was unarmed. This man claimed he “had no choice” and the grand jury thought that was enough to release him. The word of an intoxicated man against an unarmed dead man; with no witnesses to corroborate his story.

We are gathering new evidence to present it a second time for indictment, but our family needs help with legal fees.

We are residents of Ohio, where my brother and his killer are from, and this crime took place hours away in Kentucky. We’re looking for an experienced attorney, licensed in both states, and we will not only be seeking justice for this crime, but looking into stricter guidelines surrounding this law so that no other family has to go through this horrific nightmare.
