Hello! My name is Celynne and my family and I are organizing this fundraiser for my Tita Rosalyn, my aunt in the Philippines who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. What once began as malignant neoplasm in her breast has now spread into her lungs. A fast-growing tumor that spreads may be life-threatening and cancer that spreads from where it started is more difficult to treat. This case is complex and requires continuous medical care.

At 49-years-old, Tita Rosalyn was admitted to the hospital on April 17th and was stabilized and discharged on April 22nd. While we are grateful that her current condition is stable and our family was able to cover ₱300,000 PHP ($4,900 USD) to take care of her medical expenses, her treatment journey is only the beginning.

During that time, my Tita Rosalyn was going to her early treatments alone. Her husband, Tito Armyl, is an OFW (Overseas Filipino Worker) supporting their livelihoods abroad as a seafarer. He has now returned home from his work duties to be by her side throughout her treatment; while his presence is imperative during this time, this also means my Tita and my Tito will temporarily have no source of income.

I am grateful for the nurturing ways Tita Rosalyn has shown up and taken care of me and my family during our time in the Philippines—she really is the best of us. My family and I are committed to do what we can to take care of her now.

The reality is that we cannot do this alone. While Tita Rosalyn is beginning to receive the medical care she needs (lung fluid drainage, blood transfusions due to anemia, and preparation for chemotherapy), her condition requires close monitoring and may involve aggressive treatment depending on how her body responds. All funds raised will go directly towards Tita Rosalyn’s ongoing treatment expenses, which is expected to cost a minimum of ₱2,000,000 PHP ($33,300 USD).
