I first met my dear friend Letitia Griffin, or "Tish" as we lovingly call her, during the Pre-Married Life class at Victory Church. At the time, she and her now-husband Milton—who I fondly consider my big brother—were planning their life together and preparing for marriage. At 53, they took that beautiful step and have been building their life as a couple ever since. Through that journey, Tish and I instantly bonded over shared life stories and a common hometown, St. Louis, even though we now both call Atlanta home. Her calm and gentle spirit quickly drew me in, and from then on, she became my big sister in faith and friendship.
Letitia is one of the most beautiful souls I've ever known—inside and out. She is truly one of God’s warriors, always pointing others toward a deeper, more personal relationship with Christ. I’ve witnessed firsthand the purity of her heart and her sincere effort to live in God’s image. What touches me most about Tish is her enormous heart. Even during her own trials, she finds a way to minister to others. In her own journey with breast cancer, she remains a source of light and encouragement, creating care packages for fellow cancer warriors, offering prayers, and sharing hope.
The reason I’m writing today is that Tish is facing one of the toughest challenges of her life. Recently, she was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer on her right breast. In just the last month, her life has been filled with numerous doctor’s appointments, treatments, and preparations for surgery. As you can imagine, the financial burden is heavy, and she needs support for her basic survival during this overwhelming time.
If you feel led to help, know that any contribution will be a seed sown into good soil. Tish has been a loyal member of Victory Church, as she served with Victory Kids, as a greeter at Victory Norcross, etc. She has also touched countless lives through her work with In Touch Ministries, where she served for 15 years under Dr. Charles Stanley, always praying for those in need. Her heart is truly that of a servant—whether it’s through her writing (she’s the author of over 50 poems and the book *Shadows of Love*) or her passion for baking, which she shares generously with others.
Tish has also endured significant personal loss. She recently mourned the passing of a nephew she helped raise and care for through his illness, following the loss of her sister, who also battled cancer. Despite all of this, her faith remains unshaken, and her spirit continues to give.
In addition to your prayers, I am raising funds to support Tish with her essential needs as she battles this illness. Contributions will go toward:
- Doctor visits and copays
- Food and household essentials
- Transportation to and from chemotherapy appointments
Any support you can offer will make a difference and will be deeply appreciated.
