Hello, I am posting this on behalf of myself and my family.

I had a CT scan in June of last year. There was a 6 mm nodule in my left lung. At that time, my pulmonologist wanted to keep an eye on it and wanted me to have another CT scan in 6 months. During that time some unfortunate events occurred in our lives, basically turning it upside down. I wasn't able to go back for a follow up on my CT scan until March of this year.

At that time, the nodule had grown to a 2.7 cm mass. By the grace of God and the diligence and hard work on my mom's part, I got an appointment at MD Anderson.

My first appointment was May 1st. On May 5th a biopsy was done and the mass had increased in size once again, to 4 cm. The mass was diagnosed as non small cell adenocarcinoma. After that, an MRI of my brain was done. There they discovered a very small, 3 mm lesion in my brain that they have determined is part of the lung cancer, so it has spread.

MDA has been on top of it. It has been a whirlwind of appointments and tests. They have set up a treatment plan that includes 30 radiations treatments, 7 chemotherapy treatments, and 1 targeted radiation treatment to my brain. They are extremely confident that with this course of treatment, the cancer will be destroyed.

Last Tuesday we found out that our insurance only covers up to 25k per year of chemotherapy treatments and NO radiation therapy.

We have applied for financial assistance through MDA, looked for grants, etc.

I will be able to work during treatments, but not full time.

Our faith has been strong and we know that everything will work out and that God will heal.

We started this GoFundMe page to raise money for medical expenses that our insurance may not cover and for any other bills that we may incur due to my lost pay.

Self pay for the targeted radiation treatment is estimated at $108k.

Self pay for the 30 radiation treatments is estimated at $171k.

This does not include any tests or doctor visits.
