Support Tino's Siblings' Education Fund

Donation protected
Today, we invite our Stanford GSB community—and anyone inspired by Tino’s story—to join us in supporting the revival of the Nyandoro Education Trust.

Tinotenda (Tino) Nyandoro was a first-generation low-income student from Mutoko, Zimbabwe, who overcame all odds to earn a full-ride scholarship in Stanford University’s Class of 2024. He tragically passed on in a car accident in September 2022 while in Zimbabwe.

Tino was passionate about using his education to uplift his community. He believed that genius is evenly distributed, while opportunity is not. At the time of his death, Tino was designing a new program in collaboration with the Robert A. Strauss Foundation to train Zimbabwean teachers so they could help their students through the college application process. He also worked with the United Nations Academic Impact initiative as a UN Millennium Fellow, as well as Project Access and Project Destined.

As a rising junior at Stanford, Tino interned at EY-Parthenon Business Consulting and Services in New York. Most people would not have guessed from his charismatic and cheerful energy that—even as a student—he was the breadwinner for his family. He financially supported the education of his siblings alongside that of twenty other students in his community.

We previously established the Nyandoro Education Trust with over $10,000 in donations to send Tino’s 5 siblings to school (high school—grades 8 and 10; elementary school—grades 2, 4, and 5). However, the funds ran out in the last few months.

Our new fundraising goal of $65,000 will directly support educational expenses for his siblings until the time they graduate high school.

Your support goes an incredibly long way:
$45 covers a year worth of elementary school
$810 covers a year worth of high school
Every donation, large or small, ensures Tino’s mission continues, creating lasting impact through education.

With guidance from Stanford’s Legal Counsel Office, we are also in the process of setting up a 501(c)(3) organization, ensuring transparency and legitimacy. GoFundMe will release all raised funds directly to this approved charitable organization.

Please join us in honoring our dear friend’s legacy. Together, we can sustain Tino’s lifelong dream of providing opportunities for those who need them most.

Thank you deeply for your generosity and support.
