Our sweet little old gal is almost 15, and over the last 5 weeks, we’ve had a couple of emergent vet trips. On March 7th, we brought her in after she had some episodes that can only be compared to a fainting goat. They ran some blood work and tests before sending us to the Animal Hospital for an EKG and other testing. Our little girl has always had a heart murmur, but then they told us she also had an arrhythmia. After a total combined cost of $1700 and a few heart meds later, we got those nasty heart issues under control!!
On March 28th, we had a bout of some nasty poops, and that was an easy trip! Then, on April 11th, we found ourselves back at the vet after 3-4 days of vomiting. We started at our local vet with some bloodwork, and after finding some elevated levels, they sent us to the animal hospital again for an ultrasound of her liver and gallbladder. Within a few hours, we found out that our sweet baby had to have her gallbladder removed at almost 15 years old! Of course, our first priority is doing whatever we have to do to make this happen, but we all know that money doesn’t grow on trees! They quoted us a low end of $5500 and a high end of $7300, depending on how things would go.
Today is now April 16th, and our baby is still at the animal hospital because we’ve had a few setbacks. Yesterday, I got a call that she needed to be put on oxygen because she had turned purple, NOT something we wanted to hear, but then we got a more promising update last night! Then today, I get our daily update call, and she’s still progressing, but they’ve had to continue oxygen at times as well as they’ve added 4-5 new meds. The kicker is, our high end of $7300 has now turned into $8400 as of today with no idea of exactly when Tink will come home.
Please send all the prayers, good vibes, or anything else you may believe in, and please share this as any donations will be greatly, greatly appreciated!
