Support Tink's Life-Saving Surgery
Donation protected
Please consider helping the Humane Association of the Lowcountry with the cost of Tink’s surgery and aftercare. Tink is a beautiful kitty who lives in a feral colony that HAL volunteers feed. Our volunteers grow to love their feral kitties and not only feed them daily but also get to know the personalities of each cat they feed. They look out for the cats, monitoring them for signs of illness or injury. Tink’s feeders let us know when she showed up to eat one morning with a degloved tail. While Tink can’t tell us what happened, they knew she was in severe pain and at risk for a life-threatening infection. One of Tink’s feeders was able to trap her and get her to one of our partner vets for surgery. To save her life and free her of the pain she was suffering, Tink’s tail had to be amputated. Tink made it through surgery with flying colors and is recovering nicely in foster until she is healed enough to return to her colony. Tink is feral, and while she doesn’t allow her foster to pet her, she has been a perfect houseguest. Her appetite has improved, her pain is well managed, and she is infection-free! HAL’s mission is to improve the lives of all cats in the Lowcountry. We believe all kitties deserve the chance to live their best lives possible, whether they live as indoor pets or outdoors in feral colonies. Your help in offsetting Tink’s surgery, medications, and follow-up care will allow us to continue our mission. We can’t do what we do without you.
