Tina’s Fight
Hello everyone, I’m Jess. My best friend for the last 36 years has been Tina Cook, who is fighting for her life!
Let me tell you about this amazing woman. She’s been there for me (and all those she cares about) without question. She’s just always there, trying her hardest to help, to love, and to just uplift us when we need it!
She’s been a single, struggling mom, always, ALWAYS putting her kids first for as long as I can remember. She’s a great daughter, amazing niece, aunt, cousin, and friend! She takes the most pride in her beautiful granddaughter, Nexi.
Always helping, always putting herself last. WELL, IT'S TIME FOR US TO HELP HER & PUT HER FIRST!
In the last few months, I have witnessed my soulmate, my bestie, my sister struggle with her health. I have seen her go to appointment after appointment to be told NOTHING WAS WRONG until it was COMPLETELY WRONG.
After nearly a year of testing, she found out she was IN FOR THE FIGHT OF HER LIFE! She had the dreaded big “C” - kidney cancer! Her original doctor wanted to wait almost 4 months to re-examine her and then discuss removing the kidney. Thankfully, her second opinion doctor had the wherewithal to get her in and remove the kidney within days of meeting her! As she’s still recovering, she’s fallen behind on bills. She was only 1 month post-surgery and just about ready to go back to work, only to be rushed in to have an appendectomy exactly 1 month after having the kidney removed. This has caused a major setback as doctors will not okay her to go back to work due to this latest surgery just days ago.
Please help me help Tina stay in her home, keep the utilities on, and cover other basic things she’s fallen behind on! She’s too prideful to ask for help; I, however, am not too prideful to ask her loved ones to help me help this amazing woman while she recovers. ❤️
