My name is Charles and I am writing this on behalf of Tina my lady for many years. Tina was always a go getter and always wanted to accomplish something everyday, She has worked for Family Dollar for around 10 years. Always a fast worker, unloading trucks, putting away stock and running the cash register taking care of customers. She was quick and full of energy. One day helping to unload one of our trucks she had an accident by getting her foot caught in the wheel of the rollers we used. She fell at this point and messed up her ankle. well we waited a couple days to see if it would heal. It got worse and she had to be taken to the emergency. when we got there they drew blood checked BP and took down information before she could be seen. She was admitted that night. As the doctors work checking what could be wrong, They notice something else. Her eyes and skin were yellow which was diagnosed as a much more serious condition. Liver failure. After doing multiple test she was diagnosed with having a disease known as amyloidosis of which in time can make its way to all organs of the body. So they did every kind of test on her after the diagnostics to see how far it has gone. She has had many doctors working with her. after she was released with a schedule of hospital visits to be done including chemotherapy every week of infusions in the belly along with pills and blood draws. Things got worse. She had a hard time breathing and was taken to the hospital again to find she had a heart condition that was brought on from the liver disease. Blood was not flowing through the heart as it should be. So the heart specialist had to do more testing some being ultra sound and some tubes with cameras sent through the throat to get pictures of her heart. upon all this going on the breathing issue was a part of this with fluid built in a thick layer around her heart and lungs. Extra fluid was removed using water pills and other medications. This fluid also made her lower legs swell and leak water. She is still in bad shape and has her good days and bad. She has a lack of energy and can barely stand or walk and kind of distance. She now has to be on an oxygen machine or tanks when out of our home. She has to take a bunch of pills to be able to function daily. Work insurance covered everything for a while, But what the insurance did not cover we are looking at some rather large hospital bills from all of the areas she had testing done. She is no longer working and her insurance has been terminated. So all visits with specialist at the hospital are no longer covered. This money we don't have. My income is our only income which is not very much. Now I am asking for help for the funeral expenses that we need because she just died. Her life insurance is too low to cover all the expenses required.
