Help After 19 Years of Dedicated Service — Laid Off & overwhelmed
Hi, my name is Tina. I never thought I’d be here, asking for help — but life has thrown us a curveball we weren't prepared for.
After 19 years of loyal service to the same school district, my husband was suddenly laid off due to budget cuts. He worked hard behind the scenes in the IT department, helping students and staff day in and day out. He wasn’t part of the union, and when cuts came, he was let go without severance, without warning — and without the safety net that others might have had.
To make matters harder, I am disabled and dealing with complex, chronic health conditions that make everyday life challenging. I rely on my husband not just emotionally, but physically — and now he’s doing everything he can to support me while trying to find new work at the age of 59.
Unemployment helps a little, but it doesn’t cover everything. The bills, the medications, the groceries — it all adds up fast. We’ve always been proud, private people. But now, I’m reaching out with a humble heart to ask: if you can help us through this difficult time, even a small donation would mean the world to us.
We’re not giving up — we just need a little help getting through this chapter. Thank you for reading, for sharing, and for caring.
With gratitude,
Tina & Ron Reyes
