Support Martina (Tina) Pellicciotta's Battle Against Cancer
0% complete
$18,675 raised of $30K

We are reaching out on behalf of our friend, boss and salon owner, Martina (Tina) Pellicciotta. Tina was recently diagnosed with upper tract urothelial carcinoma. Once she has gone through several rounds of chemotherapy to shrink the tumors in her ureter, she will need to have her left kidney, ureter and part of her bladder removed.
We are unsure of how her body will react to the chemo treatments and although we are hopeful that she will be able to keep working, there is a strong possibility that as the treatments continue, she will become too tired to continue to work the hours she currently does. We also know that recovery after her surgery will be several weeks when she most definitely won’t be able to work. Please keep Tina in your prayers.
We've created this GoFundMe page to ease the financial burden on Tina at this time. The funds raised will go directly toward covering medical expenses, living expenses and everything in between. We appreciate each and every one of you and we hope you continue to pray for Tina. We will also accept donations at Pietro Hair Salon, 1766 South Atherton Street, Suite 12, State College, PA 16801. Please don't hesitate to reach out to the salon if you have any questions or if you're uncomfortable with using GoFundMe.
There is evidence suggesting that hairdressers have a higher risk of developing certain cancers compared to the general population. This is primarily due to their prolonged and frequent exposure to various chemicals found in hair products, such as dyes, bleaches, and relaxers.
Every single donation, no matter how small, will make a profound difference. It will provide not just financial relief, but also a tremendous source of comfort and strength, knowing that she is not alone in this fight. Your generosity will allow Tina to focus solely on her health and healing, without the added stress of financial worries.
Our salon family will be helping in countless ways, but we know we can’t do this alone. That’s why we’re reaching out for support. Tina has always been the person who shows up for others and her loved ones, and now she’s fighting for a healthy life ahead.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, compassion, and belief in Tina.
With deepest gratitude,
On behalf of Tina’s Friends and Family
